Chilly Tweeters

Chilly Tweeters

Chilly Tweeters:

This 6"x6" card has a soft snuggly look about it.  Our winter bird trio is stamped on 140lb Cold Press watercolour paper using Shadow Grey Archival Ink.  This cute stamp is a Whipper Snapper Design called Winter Get Together.

It is beautifully coloured using Prisma Color Premier Colored Pencils and Odorless Solvent.  Remember not all images need to be bold.   Pay close attention to the shading and highlighting of the yellow and blue tones.  Shading and highlighting is key to creating more realistic values.  The bead like corner embellishments are Dew Drops.  Dew Drops are glossy drops and are a fantastic way to add dimension to an otherwise flat surface.  Each drop is approximately 5mm in diameter and 2mm high.  Each bottle contains approximately 375 drops in 3 coordinating or contrasting colors which are flat on one side and rounded on the other making it easy to adhere with adhesive such as Tombow Liquid Glue or Mini Glue Dots

Simple Elegance:

This 5"x7" card uses simple tones of rustic browns, ivory and light blues to create an elegant traditional Christmas card.  The ornaments are cut from a combination of the Memory Box Lydia Ornament and Traditional Ornament dies.  The three dimensional bows are made using ivory cardstock and the Pretty Pretty Bows  die by Cheery Lynn.  After cutting the bow try curling the bow pieces using a bone folder, this helps shape the bow and gives it a more natural formed look. The Paisley paper background may seem a bit busy but by adding solid pieces of cardstock the patterned paper appears less striking and softer and your attention is brought back to the foremost focal point the cascading ornaments.

Frosty's Friend:

Warm up to this lovely A2 card.  The snowman image is from Stampendous Cling stamps called Country Snowman.  It is stamped using Jet Black Archival Ink on 140lb cold press watercolour paper.

The image is coloured with Prismacolor Premiere Colored Pencils and Odorless Solvent.  When blending your colours use either a Tortillion or a Craft Nib Tool. It is a little hard to tell on this picture but the mitten cuffs and bottom of snowman are actually puffed out using the Snow Marker.  The Snow Marker is sooo cool you literally mark wherever you want 3D snow with marker, it comes out like a liquid then use your heat gun to activate the snow...Voila it forms up like a cloud and instantly bonds to your project.  It can be used on not just paper but on fabric too.  If you are wondering about the snowflake it is a real wooden snowflake embellishment dazzled up with some adhesive gems Wooden Snowflakes a great way to add that finishing touch on your next card!

Tranquil Moments:

This stunning easel card is 5"x7" and is done so easily you will want to make more of them.  First start by using white cardstock.  Using Distress Inks (Mustard Seed, Seedless Preserves and Spiced Marmalade)  create a sunset starting at the top and bottom using seedless preserves then add mustard seed to the center and add streaks od spiced marmalade for dimension.  Cut a corresponding black piece of cardstock and center the Moose 1 Die and cut out image.  Using foam dots adhere the outside border of the moose image and glue the moose die cut inside the oval center.  The Sparkle on the sun is done with Wink of Stella Clear Brush Marker it adds the perfect amount of shimmer and can be strategically placed unlike using shimmer mists.  There is a brother to the moose die which stands more vertically and is gorgeous Moose 2.  The Moose dies are quite large, detailed and cut effortlessly they are definitely worth their value.

This uniquely folded card is sure to take your heart.  The Penguin stamp is called Floating By Cling Stamp by Whipper Snapper.  It is coloured with Ranger Distress Markers on 140lb cold press water colour paper.  We stamp the image using Jet Black Archival Ink.  Always make sure to use Archival ink to stamp an image that you are going to colour.  Archival ink is a permanent ink that dries fast allowing you to use any medium to colour the stamped image without bleeding or distorting the image.  We used Sky Blue Archival Ink to ink the edges to soften the look and finish the edges of the printed pieces.  The Stamp set used for the sentiments is from one of the many Penny Black 2016 winter clear stamp collections Season's Gift Penny Black.  The cute snowflakes which are perfectly sized for cards is a Poppystamp die Valley Snowflakes (please contact store for more information on Valley Snowflakes) This card makes a 6"x6" card.  If you have a hard time finding envelopes for odd sized cards try making them.  We R Memories Keepers have an excellent tool that makes envelope making a breeze Envelope Punch Board
